Swollen lymph nodes that are painful in the armpit - Basically lymph nodes are not soft or painful. Most of the sap glands present in our body can not be palpated.
Although this gland is present in all parts of the body, its presence is only visible when there is swelling. Lymph nodes are usually located in a particular body part and each group of glands connected to a particular body part and if there is swelling of lymph nodes in a body part then it shows the presence of abnormalities in the area.
Usually, the lymph nodes will swell in one area when there is a problem such as injury, infection or the development of tumors in or near the lymph nodes.
Lymph nodes in the armpits can swell due to injury or an infection of the arm or hand. Breast cancer or lymphoma can also cause swollen lymph nodes, although this is rare.
